These recent pieces (2022-2023) reflect an uncovering and disentangling of personal and collective identity. Some suggest unfoldment, some are portals, some are prayers. Each piece offers a different view of surrender of historically formulated definition and belief, and weaves conceptions of dawn and innocence.
From above, beneath and within the intensity of these times flows a Power of Love, Life, Change and Unexpected Knowing and Unknowing. These pieces invite and suggest the Presence of the Nascent, That Which Is Being Unfolded… a Heart, an Intent, sounding pure frequencies, singing birth songs as we awaken.
I draw on heavy acid free watercolor paper because I love the weight and stability it faithfully offers. I use colored pencils because I love their range of depth and softness and watercolor because it has so much mystery.
Much of the joy of this work continues to be uncompromising permission to lean into the subtle and sacred. I have not been challenged to finalize or get anything perfect or right. Yet often I feel like a cliff jumper and so return again and again to the song and its colors.
